Former YSU Player, Darius Shackleford Dies In Auto Crash

Darius Shackleford has been identified as the victim in a deadly crash in Youngstown overnight Sunday. The Former YSU Penguins wide receiver Darius Shackleford was killed last night in a car crash. He was a member of the football program from 2015-20.
According to the police, the accident occurred just before midnight near the intersection of Albert Street and McGuffey Road.
We were trying to stop a 19-year-old driver for a traffic violation at Albert Street and the Himrod Expressway Exit while trying to flee northbound he crashed into a vehicle driven by 24-year-old Darius Shackleford, according to officers.
Police said Shackleford died at the scene of the crash.
