Robert Agnello wrote – Today, #friendshipfriday means more than ever. The world has lost a shining light in the form of Bob Lampel. A beautiful soul with a smile that lit up the night. Always in good humor and respectful of everyone. Oh, and he always had a solution for any problems he or we faced. A true believer in good. I will carry him around in my heart forever and when I think of him, I’ll smile. He is immortal. MAKE THE CALL Things happen quickly in life. Don’t regret reaching out. Love you all. Please stay safe.
Ray Ellin wrote – Comedy and tv friends, just heard the shocking news that Bob Lampel passed away. I didn’t realize he was ill. Bob was a WONDERFUL guy to work with, just a terrific person, full of wisdom and great stories. So grateful that I knew him. Heartfelt condolences to his family. Bob was the best.
Bruce Ferri wrote – I learned this morning that my friend Bob Lampel has passed. When I was just starting out as a young inexperienced LD, he rode me hard when he was directing since he worked as a concert LD and I used to dread working with him even though I was learning from him whether I knew it or not. When I got older and gained some more experience, I appreciated his input and his out of the box take on a project. We became good friends and I like to think that we created some very pretty pictures because of his appreciation for lighting. He wanted to push against the boundaries. He brought me in on some crazy projects.
Back in the day Bob, Jeff and I would meet once a month or so in a bar and solve the worlds problems in one long evening. Those were fun times. Bob was there for me when I started FLDA, acting as my business manager so that I did not have to get bogged down in the details of setting up a new company.
Time happened, lives changed and we grew apart. We lost touch; more my fault than his. I thought of getting back in touch, but something always came up. My heart goes out to his family He will be missed. I am glad that he was my friend and I regret that the last time we spoke we did not solve any problems.
