American Politician, Billy Kenoi Dies At 52

American politician, William P Kenoi is dead. Billy Kenoi who served as Mayor of Hawaii County from 2008-2016 was reported to have died today January 26 2021 at the age of 52.. No cause of death has been reported yet.

Born in Kalapana, Billy Kenoi became one of the youngest mayors in Big Island history after defeating Angel Pilago in a general election. On November 6, 2012 he was re-elected mayor again. After completing his two terms limit. Billy left office in December 2016.

Billy Kenoi had served as a legislative aide in the State House and State Senate, a law clerk, a deputy public defender, and an Executive Assistant to then-mayor Harry Kim before becoming an elected mayor.

He attended both Hawaii Community College and University of Hawaii at Hilo and later moved to University of Massachusetts Amherst in 1990 where he graduated in 1993.

Billy Kenoi’s death was confirmed in a social media post made by Facebook users who knew Billi.

A Facebook user who goes by the name, Leroy Ching took to his handle to pen his heartfelt condolences to the late politician,

He supported us at Big Daddy’s and it was a joy when he walked thru the door. Such an amazing man, I can listen to him speak over and over and still have the same reaction, each time. Rest In Paradise Mayor Kenoi, you will forever have my respect, I pray for your families strength in this unfortunate time.
