The Botswana Football Association (BFA) is deeply saddened to announce the death of 64-year-old Major David Bright.

He has been admitted at the hospital following his return from South Africa recently, according to some social media voice notes that first broke the news of him being unwell and fighting for his life at the hospital, the report also revealed that he tested positive to covid-19

Fakude, as he was fondly known, has been diligently serving football for many years, both locally and internationally.

His passion and love for football put him at the peak of his football career, training in foreign countries, such as Brazil and South Africa.

His cupboard has been decorated with outstanding prizes and magnificent medals.

The entire staff of BFA National Executive Committee (NEC) extends their heartfelt condolences to the Bright Family and to the entire football fraternity during this difficult time.

We urge the Bright family to share their well-deserved privacy as they reconcile themselves to the death of their beloved son, father, cousin, coach, a national icon, and football legend.
