South African Minister Blade Nzimande Urges Govt To Start Local Production Of Covid-19 Vaccines

The Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation Blade Nzimande has called on the government of South Africa to see the need towards starting the manufacturing of Covid-19 vaccines in the country.
Speaking on Tuesday, Minister Blade said there is a concern that some countries with an available resources can start producing the vaccines and leaving South Africa behind.
He also said that several allocation of funds have been made available to support the research of virus.
Mrs Nzimande revealed that rolling out vaccine against the covid-19 virus is one of the most important and vital aspect of fighting the virus in the country.
In South Africa today the health department has confirmed about 9,000 new cases of Covid-19 making the total number of current cases to be over 1 million infections with 344 deaths recorded so far, and 1, 117, 452 recoveries made since the beginning of the pandemic in the country.
