Popular South African gospel singer, Hlengiwe Mhlaba has been rumoured dead.
The news of her death which turned out to be a Hoax took many people to the social media asking whether she had died for real.
According to sources, Mhlaba had to assure her fans on Monday that she was alive and well following fake news of her passing. Social Media was abuzz with the news that Mhlaba was late.
Mhlaba’s death was announced on a community radio station in Kwa-Zulu Natal on Saturday through their Facebook page. Mhlaba, her friends and family were brought to the light of her “passing” from mourners who wanted to send their condolences. Which to their surprise, the songbird was still breathing.
Fellow gospel artist and friend Thobekile Mkhwanazi is reportedly one of the friends who received the frantic call, confirms www. Sowetanlive.co.za
The rumour allegedly gained momentum on Sunday as more calls came in. Her perfect health status was later confirmed by close friend Zanele Mbokazi, who is also in the gospel scene after she reached out to Mhlaba.
The said gospel musician, Mhlaba is reportedly busy in the studio with her 2021 projects.
