Excerpts From The GoFundMe Post

The world got a little darker on January 2nd, as the light that was Jay Jurgens tragically went out. Jay was the best friend anyone could want. But even more than that he was an adoring father who would move heaven and earth for his children, Jackson and Mila. And yet when he looked at Maria the world stopped and the room only belonged to the two of them. Jay Jurgens was strong, loyal, honourable and fun…too soon his life ended. Now Maria, Jackson and Mila have to find a way to move forward without their rock, their Papa, their love…Please find a way to help the Jurgens family over the coming days, weeks and months. All donations will go directly to this family to help them during this tragic time.

Todd Rodman wrote – There will be a sore spot in my heart forever with your loss. You were great in so many ways…an incredible dad, son, husband, coach and friend to many. You were a magnetic person that brought others together in a good way. You supported me from year 1 and believed in our Whiffleblast cause. You loved my son Austin as if he was your own and would always offer help brining him or taking him to the park if ever needed. The kind of friend that everyone hopes to have in their life. Because of you Parkland, and the world was made a better place. Thank you for all you have done, we will miss you and carry on your greatness to honor you. Save a Whiffleblast championship rematch for me when I see you again some day.
