2. Hidetoshi Nakata
Old European football fans, especially Serie A and AS Roma know this name. Hidetoshi Nakata is a Japanese star who is famous in Europe and won the Scudetto in 2001 with Roma.
Nakata’s career ended early due to his focus on the world of fashion. The only English club that has been defended by Nakata is Bolton Wanderers in mid-2005-2006. He scored a goal in the Premier League during Bolton’s 2-0 win over West Brom.
3. Shinji Kagawa
No stranger to Manchester United fans. The former Borussia Dortmund player played in the Premier League with MU in the 2012-2014 period. His first goal in the Premier League game at Old Trafford against Fulham in August 2012.
Kagawa was fortunate enough to win the Premier League title with Sir Alex Ferguson in 2013 before the manager retired. He was last seen defending Real Zaragoza in 2020 and the 31-year-old does not own a club at the moment.
4. Maya Yoshida
Japan national team captain and former Southampton captain. Maya Yoshida (32 years) is currently strengthening Claudio Ranieri’s team, Sampdoria. Yoshida played in England for eight years with The Saints – Southampton’s nickname.
Yoshida’s first Premier League goal came in February 2014 when Southampton lost 3-1 to West Ham United. Yoshida is an experienced defender who can play as a center back and left-back.
5. Shinji Okazaki
Masi is currently playing at the age of 34 and is strengthening the Spanish club Huesca. Shinji Okazaki played with Leicester City from 2015 to 2019 and played a duet with Jamie Vardy upfront.
Okazaki was in the squad for Premier League champions Leicester in 2016 under Ranieri. His first Premier League goal came in a 2-1 win against West Ham in December 2015.
6. Yoshinori Muto
Still in status as a Newcastle United player at the moment, but Yoshinori Muto is on loan at Eibar. Muto (28 years old) joined Newcastle in 2018 from Mainz. Muto’s first goal came when Newcastle lost 2-3 to Manchester United.
The FC Tokyo academy product plays as a striker with 29 caps with the Japanese national team and has scored three goals.
