Bishop Iona Locke Is Dead

Sad to report that Bishop Iona Locke has passed away. She was reported to have died today December 18 2020. Her cause of death or what led to her demise has not been made public as at the time of filing this report.

Bishop Iona Locke death news was announced through the official Facebook page “Locke Ministries”

The Announcement Read:

To the body of Christ,

We are of good courage and hope, preferring rather be absent from the body and to be home with the lord (2 Corinthians 5:8).

It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that the Locke family, Chris Centered Ministries Assembly, and the Abyssinia christ Centered Ministries announce the Episcopal transition of her Grace, presiding Bishop Lona E. Locke. After a season of sickness, God has granted her eternal rest. We rejoice in the confident knowledge that she is at peace with her God.

As a General in the Lord’s Church, the dimensions of her assignment have made a sound in this earth that will travel dispensationally through time until we all meet again around God’s throne.

Arrangements are incomplete at this time. Specifies will be provided at a later date.

We request your continued prayers for her family, Church and Fellowship at this most overwhelming and difficult time.

Tributes

Justin E Wade Wrote – Ladies and Gentlemen this shook me this morning. My brother, Antonio D. Blake and I were just listening and shouting together LAST NIGHT to Bishop Iona Locke preaching on YouTube. She was a powerful Woman of God and one with great insight and revelation of the scriptures. I will forever be grateful for her charisma, her exposition, and her power. She was a woman of grace and strength and she opened up a door for young women in the Apostolic church to find the voice and place in the pulpit. Today our hearts mourn and our spirits are saddened that she has transitioned from time into eternity, however, we also await that great and glorious day when we too will be gathered together with her in Jesus Christ. Bishop Locke, I’ll see you in the morning.

Timothy Jones Wrote – This is just too much!!! I’m heartbroken as I first encountered her and her ministry when I was 13 years old at our home church. Then God allowed us to host her for our church conference a few years back. Bishop Iona Locke and I spoke regarding her coming to our current location not knowing that God would call her home before getting the opportunity. Rest in Jesus Bishop Iona Locke!! Wow!!! Praying for her family, church, fellowship, and all that loved her.

James Burrows Jr. Wrote – Born and raised in the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World (PAW), some voices you were taught to love, honour, and respect. Bishop Iona Locke who was the first female Young People’s President in the Greater Pennsylvania State Council was one of those voices. The closes voice to Bishop Norman L. Wagner and God knows, one of, if not the BEST female preacher of our time. My heart hurts for this one. Rest With Jesus, Bishop Locke. You will be GREATLY missed!

T Cariis Ellis Wrote – Bishop Iona Locke. Your works speak for you. May young men and women in the faith follow a path well walked, one that involves study and articulation. I’ll never forget the conversation we had. Short yet powerful. Prayers for her family and church family. Something feels heavy abt this one.
