South Africa COVID-19 Lockdown: Only Northern Cape Beach Is Allowed To Open

Following the rising cases of COVID-19, it has been announced that the Northern Cape beach is the only one people are allowed to go, others will remain closed.

Public parks and recreational facilities across the country will be closed. This is with the exception of botanical gardens, zoos and aquariums.

This was made known to the public by the Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs minister, Dr Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma during a media briefing on Tuesday.

Hotel, lodges and BnBs will remain open.

As of 26 December, South Africa has reported a total of 994,911 Covid-19 cases, falling just short of the 1 million marks. There were 11,552 new daily cases reported, after two record increases of over 14,000 cases on Thursday and Friday this week.
