A 28-year-old man was stabbed to death in Eastham Newham.
According to an eyewitness report, a young man was stabbed in a daytime attack in east London.
Emergency services rushed to Ston Walk, East Ham, just before 3.30 pm on Tuesday evening following reports of a man being attacked.
There, they found a 28-year-old man with knife wounds.
Despite the efforts of paramedics, he died at the scene.
His next of kin were informed that they were being assisted by specialist officers, Scotland Yard said.
As the police have beefed up an investigation on the incident no arrests have been made so far.
They have put in place a stop-and-search Section 60 Order to cover the E6, E7, E13 and E16 postcodes until 7.40am on Wednesday.
