26-year-old Pen Argyl legendary wrestler Mikey Racciato dies

Young Pen Argyl legendary wrestler Mikey Racciato has been reported dead.

He died on Christmas Day at the age of 26. No other details were available concerning the actual cause of his departure.

“That’s the type of person Mikey was,” said Paul Reduzzi, who was Pen Argyl’s football coach during Racciato’s career. “He loved people.

“He walked into a room and the room changed. He was that type of person. As an educator and coach, I’ve been doing this a long time. He was special. He made everyone around him better.”

Racciato is the school and Lehigh Valley’s career wins leader, He graduated in 2013 with a record 184-8, then was the ACC champion as a sophomore in Pitt for 9 149.

He finished his college career in 64-38.

His biggest college win came when he met former Oklahoma Blue Mountain finisher NCAA finisher Josh Kindig, who in 2014 pushed the Panthers to one of the biggest victories in their history.

Racciato was a four-time 11-time regional champion and three-time Southeastern Regional Champion (lost in the 2010 Regional Final).

His only tournament defeat in the 2010 semifinals was 9. Shady Side Academy lost 8 points to Frank Martelotti. He won PIAA crowns at 135, 138 և 145 pounds.
