Covid-19 Updates: South African president, Cyril Ramaphosa to make public live broadcast on Monday 14th December 2020

The President of South Africa Cyril Ramaphosa is expected to address the people on the developments in the country concerning covid-19.

The exact time of the address is yet to be confirmed.

Covid-19 infections in South Africa has been confirmed to be over  7,782 new cases on Saturday.

Over the past week, speculation has grown as Covid-19 cases have risen sharply that President Ramafosa will take tougher action to help prevent the virus from spreading.

The Presidency has confirmed that President Ramafosa will address the people of South Africa in response to the events concerning the novel virus on Monday, December 14.

The message follows the meetings involving the Coronavirus National Command Council (NCCC) and the Presidential Coordinating Council (PCC) with a special sitting of Cabinet on Sunday, December 20.

The address will be broadcast live on TV and radio stations in the country
