Canadian Rugby League Footballer, Jake Webster Is Dead

Sad to report that Canadian Rugby League Footballer, Jake Webster has passed away at the age of 27. Jake a former Canada Men’s Sevens player was reported to have died in a tragic accident on December 7 2020.

Born in Woodville, Ontario Jake was a member of Canada’s Men’s Sevens Team for the 2013-14 and 2014-15 seasons. Jake was also a member of Canada’s U20 men’s team that competed in the 2013 IRB Junior World Rugby Trophy where his highlights included a hat trick of tries against Japan.

The Toronto Arrows RFC has reacted to the sudden demise of Jake Webster.

In a series of tweets, they wrote: The Toronto Arrows are deeply saddened to learn of the tragic passing of Jake Webster. Jake was an integral member of the Ontario Blues senior men’s provincial program from 2013 – 2015, lifting two MacTier Cups on the heels of his standout play on the wing.

Rugby Canada CEO, Allen Vansen has also reacted to the death of Jake Webster. “On behalf of the Rugby Canada Board, staff, coaches and athletes our deepest condolences to the Webster family. Our thoughts are with you. Please know you have the support of everyone in the Canadian rugby community during this difficult time.”, He said
