Mamelodi Sundowns is thankful and expresses its gratitude to Jose Ramon Alesanco for the good work he did at the Academy and at the Senior Club.

The President of Mamelodi Sundowns, Dr. Patrice Motsepe thanked Alesanco for his dedication, hard work, professionalism and for his contribution to Mamelodi Sundowns.

Sundowns wishes Jose Ramon Alesanco and Zigor Salcedo everything of the best and will continue to be in contact with Jose Ramon Alesanco and Zigor Salcedo.

In May 2020, Jose Ramon Alexanko was promoted from the club’s head of youth to the head of the technical department in a similar role to the sporting director position he once held at Barcelona.

He arrived in the country last year October to take up a position as the director of academy and scouting for The Brazilians.

However, while announcing his new appointment, Motsepe did not mention the role of the Spanish official in the senior team, raising suspicions that Mosimane will now report to the Head of Technical regarding his football activities.

“We are also excited that Jose Ramon Alexanko, who played for and captained FC Barcelona, has joined Mamelodi Sundowns as Head of Technical department,” Motsepe said via video conference.

“He was also the Director of Football at LaLiga side Valencia CF. The youth academy as well as the senior team will benefit immensely from his vast experience and expertise.”
