Former Armenian military leader and former member of the National Assembly of Armenia who was named one of the highest-ranking officials in the Armenian Army, becoming Deputy Defense Minister in 2000, Manvel Grigoryan is dead. He was reported to have died today November 18, 2020, at the age of 64. Circumstances surrounding his death was disclosed to the public.
Born on July 14, 1956, Manvel Grigoryan served in the Soviet army from 1975 to 1977. He went to Stepanakert State University and Yerevan State University. Manvel Grigoryan was appointed the Commander of the 83rd brigade of the armed forces. Between 1996 and 2000 he was promoted the Commander of the first corps of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia and gained the title of Major General. In 2000, Grigoryan became the Deputy Defense Minister of the Republic of Armenia.
