Police discovers two dead bodies near a canal separating Palm Beach and Broward counties

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that two bodies were found on a boat in the Hillsborough Canal, WPTV-News 5 correspondent reports, but authorities have not released any information on the circumstances of the deaths.

A spokesman for the Broward County Sheriff’s Office said the investigation was being conducted by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission. The agency did not respond to emails, texts or phone calls.

The revelation came about three weeks after the agency lost one of its own in a boat crash in Palm Beach County.

Commission biologist Dana Katz died of her injuries on October 27 when the ship collided with a pile in the C-51 canal. The piles were located under a ramp east of Congress Avenue to South Boulevard, adjacent to Palm Beach International Airport.

Two other scientists who were with Katz in the boat were injured in the crash, which is being investigated by the Palm Beach County sheriff’s office.
