Former England footballer, Peter Shilton mourns the death of Ray Clemence who died on Sunday



Peter Leslie Shilton OBE has mourned the death of Ray Clemence through his Twitter page.

The former England footballer in an exclusive Twitter post he shared on Sunday described Ray as a brilliant goalkeeper with a terrific sense of humour.

Peter said: “I’m absolutely devastated to be told of the sad news that Ray Clem1 has just passed away we were rivals but good friends Ray was a brilliant goalkeeper with a terrific sense of humour I will miss him a great deal as we’ve kept friends long after retiring RIP my friend”

Peter currently holds the record for playing more games for the England men’s national football team than anyone else, earning 125 caps, and holds the all-time record for the most competitive appearances in world football  1,390.
