They swabbed Alberto Fernández because Gustavo Beliz has coronavirus, the test came out negative

The Secretary for Strategic Affairs of the Chief of Staff was diagnosed with COVID-19 in the last hours. The President will remain in isolation until a second test confirms the negative.

President Alberto Fernández was swabbed this afternoon after the Secretary for Strategic Affairs of the Chief of Staff, Gustavo Beliz , was diagnosed with COVID – 19 in the last hours.“The President, Vitobello, Biondi and Valdés have already been swabbed with a negative result. In the next few hours, the rest of the results will be known “reported the Casa Rosada.

“Being close contact of a positive COVID-19 case, the President of the Nation, Alberto Fernández, has initiated the protocol of preventive and mandatory isolation and will isolate himself in the Official Residence of Olivos, ” the Presidency reported in a statement.

Meanwhile, the letter explained that “the Minister of Foreign Relations, International Trade and Worship, Felipe Solá , will also isolate themselves; the Minister of the Interior, Eduardo De Pedro ; the Minister of Women, Gender and Diversity, Elizabeth Gómez Alcorta ; the Minister of Culture, Tristán Bauer ; the Secretary General of the Presidency, Julio Vitobello ; the Secretary of Communication and Press, Juan Pablo Biondi ; and the national deputy Eduardo Valdés ” .

“The close contact of the President was the Secretary of Strategic Affairs of the Presidency, Gustavo Béliz , who would have infected the virus from a family member who began symptoms on Sunday and tested positive for Covid today,” the statement concluded.

Beliz is one of the people closest to the president and was one of the officials who accompanied Fernández last weekend on his trip to Bolivia to attend the inauguration of Luis Arce .

Fernández travelled accompanied by Foreign Minister Felipe Solá ; the Minister of the Interior, Eduardo “Wado” de Pedro ; the Minister of Women, Gender and Diversity, Elizabeth Gómez Alcorta ; the secretaries of Strategic Affairs, Gustavo Beliz ; General of the Presidency, Julio Vitobello , and of Communication and Press, Juan Pablo Biond i; Senator Jorge Taiana and Deputy Eduardo Valdés , as well as Uruguayan Foreign Minister Francisco Bustillo .

During his trip, Fernández held several bilateral meetings: one with the King of Spain, Felipe VI , and the Spanish Chancellor Arancha González Laya (he was accompanied by Beliz, Solá and De Pedro); another with the president of Colombia, Iván Duque (along with Beliz and Solá); and another with Luis Arce , the new president of Bolivia (he was accompanied by Beliz, De Pedro and Solá). Meanwhile, the next day he met with the Spanish deputy Pablo Iglesias.

Fernández also shared dinner with Evo Morales and a large delegation in a closed place, something that is not recommended in the context of the coronavirus pandemic. None of the diners had a chinstrap and, at least in the images that were released, the social distance was not respected either and all the windows were closed.

This is the second positive case of coronavirus within Alberto Fernández’s close circle. In September, the Minister of Social Development, Daniel Arroyo, confirmed today that he had coronavirus with “mild symptoms”, for which he remained isolated at home and will maintain official activity via virtual.

“I want to tell you that I tested positive for COVID-19. I have mild symptoms and am in good spirits. I will continue to work remotely. It is very important that we continue to take care of each other ”, said the national office in his account of the social network Twitter.

At that time Alberto Fernández did not swab himself because his last contact with Arroyo had been several weeks before, so there was no risk that the first president had caught the Minister.
