17-year-old Katie Jo Vaughn has been identified as one of the victims who lost their lives in a tragic auto crash near DeKalb.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Katelyn Vaughn alongside three other teens were among the accident victims.
The one-vehicle accident occurred shortly after 12:30 a.m, when the driver, Katelyn Vaughn,17, of Simms, Texas, was travelling southbound on County Road 3302. DPS officials said she apparently lost control of the 2017 Chevrolet Malibu once the car entered a corner.
The car left the roadway and overturned before landing submerged in a creek, about 6 miles north of DeKalb.

Not only did Katie Jo capture the hearts of our judges this year by placing 1st runner up and winning the International Teen Beauty title, but she has been a friend and cheerleader to Cinderella girls from all over for many years. Our love and prayers are going out to her family and loved ones. Please respect their privacy during this time. Katie Jo, you are now and forever will be a Cinderella Girl.
