Information reaching our news desk has it that popular comedian Lazarus “Gringo” Boora has passed away. He was reported to have died today November 9, 2020, at the age of 47.

The ace comedian who was earlier admitted at Westview Hospital in Zimre Park died this morning barely a day after his doctor had to deny premature reports that he had died over the weekend.

A family member told local media that Gringo has been battling with intestine obstruction and had a sitting discomfort, backache, hearing and talking difficulties.

Born and raised in Harare, Lazarus Boora attended Mutare Teacher’s college and studied drama. Later on, he went to the University of Zimbabwe where he studied theatre and dance. He appeared on his first TV commercial for a beer commercial of Castle Lager.

He, later on, worked for Joy TV and he appeared on some African TV shows. He was interviewed for Gringo. Lazarus also starred in Gringo the movie with the leading role as Gringo which premiered in Harare on the 19th of April 2013 at 7 Arts Theatre.
