Meet Kujitim Fejzulai the 20-year-old terrorist who attacked Vienna Austria yesterday night.

The assassin, shot by the police in the attack in Vienna, was 20 years old, had North Macedonian roots and had a criminal record for a terrorist organization.

According to Interior Minister Karl Nehammer (ÖVP) Fejzulai Kujtim was a supporter of the terrorist militia “Islamic State”.

He was sentenced to 22 months in prison on April 25, 2019, for attempting to travel to Syria to join ISIS. On December 5, he was released early on parole.

Kujtim was considered a young adult and thus fell under the privileges of the Juvenile Court Act (JGG). The 20-year-old was shot dead by police forces near the Ruprechtskirche, the interior minister said.

As Nehammer further explained, extensive large raids have already taken place in the vicinity of the perpetrator. Specifically, 15 house searches were carried out and several people were arrested. Kujtim had both Austrian and North Macedonian citizenship.

“He was equipped with a dummy explosive belt and an automatic long gun, a handgun and a machete to carry out this hideous attack on innocent citizens,” said the interior minister.
