Suzanne Clermont & François Duchesne Identified As Victims Of Quebec City Stabbing Attack

Quebec City atmosphere changed after two people lost their lives during a stabbing attack on Halloween night. The victims of the tragic incident have been identified as Suzanne Clermont 61 years of age who is a hairdresser and Francois Duchesne, 56, the director of communications and marketing at the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec (MNBAQ). One of the victims of horror night Saturday night in Quebec City was the wife of a friend, Jacques (Coco) Fortin, Suzanne Clermont.

François Duchesne was walking in Old Quebec on Saturday night when he was attacked with knives.

The police have arrested a 24-year-old Carl Girouard of Sainte-Thérèse, Que., north of Montreal, in connection with the attack. He has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder and five counts of attempted murder.

Francois Duchesne’s sister, Dominique Duchesne who spoke with local media said their family received the news of his death head-on. “We are really in shock… François was an infinitely good person and appreciated by all. It is all the more difficult.”

The director of the Museum, Jean-Luc Murray also reacting to Francois death said the young man did not deserve this terrible and violent end.

“There are no words to express our sadness at the loss of a colleague and friend of the quality of François Duchesne. “There are a thousand and one ways to die and François did not deserve this terrible and violent end. ”
