Hit-and-run driver kills a Cyclist delivering pizza on Upper East Side

Police say a hit-and-run driver has fled after he struck a cyclist who was delivering pizza by e-bike in the upper East Side on Sunday afternoon.

According to the police, the 42-year-old victim was riding a bicycle along the Second Avenue at 16.28. when he was hit by a black Chevy Tahoe travelling west on 97th Street.

The unidentified driver of the SUV went out of speed, later the car was found abandoned on 96th Street, Third Avenue.

Photos from the scene show that the car had TLC license plates.

The cyclist was rushed to NYC Health + Hospitals / Metropolitan, where he died, police said.

The police say, no arrests have been made in the case, and the case is being investigated.

Police say the victim’s name was not released until the family was notified.
