Cape Town set to lower water tariffs

Published

on

Many communities in Cape Town say that although they use water sparingly, the city charges them high water tariffs. And it puts a lot of stress on the elderly. But city officials said some taxpayers needed relief.

According to eNCA, the city promises to reduce tariffs and water restrictions imposed during the drought.

This is of great help to the communities of Cape Flights, who say that although they use water sparingly, high water tariffs are still charged.

The dams in the Western Cape water supply system are now 100 per cent full.

The new tariffs will come into force on November 1
