Body Of Teen Boy Who Jumped In Mermaids Pool & Never Resurfaced Found

The teen boy who jumped from a ledge at a swimming hole south-west of Sydney and failed to resurface has been identified as Blayd Lyddieth. Blayd’s body was recovered from a popular swimming hole in the New South Wales Macarthur Region.

The Paramedics were first called on around 1:40 PM, Thursday afternoon and were told that a boy had jumped into the Mermaids Pool in Tahmoor and never resurfaced.

The boy’s friends who alerted the paramedics told the first First responders that a teenager had jumped 15m from a rock ledge into the water hole below and had not resurfaced.

Blayd Lyddieth’s body was located submerged in the water about 6.15 pm, NSW Police confirmed.

A similar incident has happened in the same pool, In 2016, 27-year-old Pakistani student Adnan Kahn-Afridi got drowned at the swimming hole after hitting his head.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
