The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission identified Dana Lauren Katz has been identified as the young woman who tragically lost her life in a boat accident in a canal near West Palm Beach.

Dana Lauren Katz 29 years of age who is an FWC Fisheries Biologist from Hypoluxo, Florida, died in the crash which also left two civilian employees injured.

According to the Spokeswoman Carol Lyn Parrish while commenting on the tragic incident stated that the FWC worker alongside Dana Lauren Katz were travelling east on the C-51 when their vessel collided with a concrete piling underneath the Congress Avenue eastbound ramp to Southern Boulevard.

The wounded FWC staff are currently in a hospital where they are receiving treatment and are said to be in a stable condition.

“Our thoughts are with Dana’s family and loved ones during this difficult time,” Parrish said.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is now investigating the incident.

Her brief biography on Social media states that Katz went to Gainesville college before transferring to Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton. She was born and raised on the water in Florida.

The FWC reacting to Dana Katz’s death released an official statement, revealing that investigation is currently being conducted.
