Man City Ex Academy Player, Jeremy Wiston Dies At 17

Jeremy Winston Is Dead

Manchester City’s former academy player Jeremy Wiston has sadly passed away. Jeremy Winston was reported to have lost his life last week. According to reports from sources, the ex-Manchester City plater committed suicide. He died at the age of 17.

He was signed to Man City in 2016 and featured for their Elite Development squads before leaving the club. for their under 13 Elite Squad. That year he came the highly-rated young Malawi-born player who got signed by Manchester City Football Academy.

Prior to Manchester City, Jeremy played grassroots football at Altrincham Juniors FC in Greater Manchester before moving to Salford-based De La Salle FC in 20014 where he helped his team to secure a win for the Manchester FA County Cup in style, conceding only one goal in the entire competition.

He was also opportune to play for Trafford Schoolboys in 2015.

The Manchester City in an official statement released their Twitter handle confirmed that Jeremy has passed on.

The statement read below…

The Manchester City family are saddened to learn of the passing of former Academy player Jeremy Wisten. We send our deepest condolences to his friends and family. Our thoughts are with you at this difficult time.

A Gofundme account has been set to help in catering for Jeremy Funeral expenses. Over £7,000 has been raised already.
