An unborn baby is among the 13 killed in truck-taxi crashes along R66’s Ulundi and Melmoth town road

Thirteen people, including an unborn child, were among the passengers who lost their lifes in a terrible taxi-truck collision in the town of Kwazulu-Natal, north of the R66’s Ulundi and Melmoth town.

KwaZulu’s lucky private ambulance Sibis said the accident happened around 8am on Wednesday.

“Thirteen people were killed, including an unborn baby who came out of his mother after a collision. Four people were seriously injured. “At least three of the taxi drivers were burned, unrecognizable,” said Sibibi.

According to Sibisi, the taxi was heading from Nongoma to Durban, while the truck was heading from Melmot to Vryheid

The driver of the truck also died as a result of the accident.

This is the second major accident in the state.

Two weeks ago, 13 members of the Mndali family were killed in a taxi crash in the Kilmun area of KwaZulu-Natal Midlands.

At that time, the relatives were all returning from the traditional ceremony, They were buried on Saturday.
