American Football Offensive Tackle, Mario Henderson Has Passed Away

Information reaching our news desk has it that Former NFL offensive lineman Mario Henderson who played college football at Florida State from 2003-2006, Mario Henderson has sadly passed away. Mario Henderson was reported to have died today October 21, 2020, at the age of 35 after a serious health issue.

Mario Henderson’s death news was announced the Lehigh Head Football Coach, Chaney in a series of tweets made via his Twitter handle.

The tweets read below:- On behalf of the Lehigh Football Program, I would like to extend my condolences to the family of our Brother, Lehigh Lightning & Florida State Seminole GREAT, Mr Mario Henderson!.


Advocate athlete, Cam Mellor has also reacted to the sudden demise of Mario, in a series of tweets he wrote – It’s never easy to write these, that’s for sure, but at least I can share a small anecdote about the worker that I saw in Mario Henderson while at FSU, who passed away at just 35 years old today. Crying face Rest In Peace, Mario.

Who Is Mario Henderson?

Mario Henderson is an American football offensive tackle who spent the first four years of his career with the Oakland Raiders, after being selected from Florida State in the 2007 NFL Draft.

He was a 375-pound freshman who’d never played football. His first year of football was his Senior year. After his sophomore year, Henderson transferred to Lehigh Senior High School. Due to transfer rules, he was not able to play during his junior year. He used that time to change his physique and, in his senior year, earned a scholarship to Florida State University
