SAD! Ava Claire DeVine Dies In A Tragic Accident
Ava Claire DeVine has passed away. Ava Claire DeVine was reported to have died on Sunday in a tragic accident in Pickens County.
According to Coroner Kandy Kelley, Ava Claire died at the scene of the incident which occurred at 9:pm on South Cove Road Just west of the town of Sunset. She was hit by a vehicle few minutes of getting down and walking away from a 2016 Honda.
Reacting to her death, Furman University in an official statement described Ava Claire as an exceptional person and a bright light to anyone who knew her.

Ava was an exceptional person and a bright light to anyone who knew her. A Bell Tower scholarship awardee, Ava was an active member of Zeta Tau Alpha and health science major who had already been active in health care fields. She spent the spring semester studying away in Edinburgh as a radiology intern and had aspirations after graduation of helping people through health care. Her sister, Liza DeVine, is a sophomore at Furman.
On behalf of the university, I extend our most heartfelt condolences to Ava’s family and her many friends and loved ones. There is nothing I can say that will fully express our great sorrow.
