Armed robbery and Bombing in Rustenburg: Police in search of criminals following a cash in transit robbery (Videos)



There has been a manhunt underway this evening following a cash in transit robbery in Rustenburg.

Police are all over Rustenburg, Tlhabane and Lefaragatlhe as the robbers hijacked several cars before shooting at the police.

A similar incident occurred in July last year when police fired a shotgun at six gunmen after a bomb blast in the northwestern city of Rustenburg on Saturday morning.

It was supposed that the group was heavily armed. He used two cars to stop the armoured car before opening the safe lockers with the bags.

The dramatic footage below was taken by a passer-by following the bombing shows a van carrying cash and several other vehicles setting fire to a crowd of spectators rushing to raise money on the road.

Police spokesman Colonel Katlego Mogale said the armored vehicle accompanying the car was on Bosh Street when the bakery entered the column.

“Six suspects jumped out of their vehicles with automatic weapons, started to open the van with explosives, took undisclosed cash,” he said.

“While fleeing the scene, the men set fire to the cars they used,” Mogale added.

He said the men escaped in two Ford Rangers, one white and the other silver.

“Public officials further warn that sheltering criminals is a criminal offence, so if these suspects are hidden or helped in any way, they too will be guilty of a crime,” he said.

No one was injured in the quake; no arrests have been made yet.
