Who is Richard Molloy, British man dies and his two friends became seriously ill after leaving to Turkey for teeth whitening treatment.



Meet Richard Molloy, a 33-year-old British man who died after traveling to Turkey for teeth whitening treatment while two of his friends are still in the hospital.

Richard Molloy from Belfast died on Saturday after leaving for Marmaris for dental work, leaving two of his friends, Declan Carson and Aaron Kalagan, seriously ill.

It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post, but three men were in Turkey for a teeth whitening procedure.

He told the Belfast Telegraph. “It is a very difficult situation. A young friend dies in Turkey after traveling with two friends

“I understand that they went to the dentist for treatment. We do not know how it happened, but as a result, Richard died and the other two children became seriously ill.

“At this stage, his sister has been discharged; she has been contacted by a funeral company who are pursuing Richard’s repatriation.”

The spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said. “We support the family of a British man who died in Turkey. We are in touch with the Turkish authorities.”

The Irish government said. “We are aware of the case, we provide consular assistance.”

North Belfast Sinn Fein MP John on Finukein described the “absolutely heartbreaking” tragedy as affecting “three good, healthy young men”.

He said. “The community of North Belfast will gather around the families of the victims and will do their utmost to support them in times of great difficulty.

“I will contact the Department of Foreign Affairs immediately, requesting that all necessary assistance be provided immediately to assist families.”

Belfast SDLP Deputy Mayor Paul McCusker called the tragedy “disturbing and devastating.”

Aaron Callaghan, who remains in hospital, is a former player at St James’ Swifts Football Club.

It is written on the club’s Twitter page. “Today our thoughts and prayers are conveyed to former first-team player Aaron Callaghan.

“Everyone in the club is thinking about you during this time. We have you and your friends in our hearts.”
