Teen Boy Loses His Life In A Tragic Accident

Aidan Kwelberg has sadly passed away. The 22-year-old teen lost his life on 3rd October 2020 in a tragic accident. His memorial service was held today at Bishop Ireton High School.

According to his Gofundme account, Aidan was described as a wonderful kid who always came to the facility with a big smile and ready to work.

Good evening Mount Vernon families, It is with great sadness that we share the tragic death of a student connected to our extended Mount Vernon community. Aidan Kwelberg attended both Woodley Hills Elementary and Whitman Middle School before continuing his high school education at Bishop Ireton.

A member of their class of 2022, we know that Adian continued to have connections to many of our Mount Vernon students, staff and community partners. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers.

We understand that this is a very stressful and difficult time, and now more than ever we must take care of ourselves and each other. As a proud Major family, we are always there for each other; we are here to lift up those who need a little extra support, so please reach out if you need to talk. Our school’s psychologist, social worker and counsellors will be available throughout the day on Monday and over the coming weeks for any students and or staff in need of counselling, additional support or resources.
