JGR Executive JJ Damato Has Passed Away

Information reaching our news desk has it that JGR Executive JJ Damato Has Passed Away. He was reported to have died on Saturday 3rd October 2020. His cause of death or what led to his sad demise was never made public. He was the VP of marketing services.
Joshua Domato has to be one of the Fantasy Drivers in the EA NASCAR games and he was also listed in the “Special Thanks” section of the credits in a lot of them as well. He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in 1994 from the St. John’s University.
JJ Domato was the Administrative and Licensing Coordinator of the National Hockey League from 1992 to 1999 (7 years).
His death news was announced by Joe Gibbs Racing in a series of tweets via their twitter handle.

Via their Facebook Page, they posted – JJ Damato was a person who spent his time making those around him happier. He could make his best friends belly-laugh, and then turn around and make a stranger feel like a life-long friend.
His one-in-a-million personality left a mark of positivity and encouragement wherever he went, whether at JGR, #NASCAR, or other places he once called home. He gifted us with great stories to tell, but even more importantly: great friendship and an example of how to treat others well.
We are experiencing great sadness over his loss and keeping his daughters, fiancée, family, and friends in our thoughts and prayers. Love you JJ.

and some other teams will run this decal today at Talladega in remembrance of JGR executive Joseph “JJ” Damato, who tragically passed away yesterday. Heavy minus sign Damato was a beloved longtime NASCAR executive who served most recently as VP of marketing services at JGR.

JJ Damato appears in NASCAR 06: Total Team Control as a Whelen Modified Series driver. He appears in later games including NASCAR 09. He is then a NASCAR Nationwide Series driver of the #131 Chicken Lick’n car.
NASCAR will honour him with a moment of silence before Sunday’s race at Talladega Superspeedway. In Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series YellaWood 500 at Talladega Superspeedway, Joe Gibbs Racing teams will be carrying special decals to honour the memory of longtime team executive Joseph ‘JJ’ Damato.

Relating that through their official Facebook Page: “It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of founding member and great friend Joseph “JJ” Damato.
JJ was there for our very first game, part of the “Original 6″ of the CSHL as we often joked. If you’ve known JJ for any amount of time, you know how much this Jersey boy loved his family, daughters and fiancè. He was a great person whose upbeat personality will surely be missed by all.
