Kyiv appeal court confirmed the sentence for Yanukovych on charges in high treason case

0

The Kyiv Court of Appeal dismissed the defence’s complaints, and the verdict for treason remained unchanged.

The lawyer of the fugitive president Vitaliy Serdyuk announced this on his Facebook page.

“The court’s decision dismissed the appeals. The verdict is unchanged,” the lawyer said.

The defence stated that it was not satisfied with the verdict and would appeal to the Supreme Court.

It will be recalled that on January 24, 2019, the Obolensky District Court of Kyiv sentenced ex-president Viktor Yanukovych in absentia to 13 years in prison for treason and aiding and abetting an aggressive war.
