Leicester Club Doctor, Stuart Birtwistle Dies After A Long Battle With Cancer

Leicester Club Doctor, Stuart Birtwistle has passed away. Stuart Birtwistle was reported to have died this summer after a long fight with cancer. The cause of his death was never disclosed to the public.

He was a wonderful husband and father, as well as a caring friend to many. He served the NHS as an orthopaedic surgeon for over 30 years.

Honouring him Leicester City star, Maddison held up a T-shirt to pay tribute to former club doctor after wonder-goal against Man City.

It wasn’t the first time that Maddison has dedicated a goal to someone as he did likewise last year to Sophie Taylor from Norwich who died at the age of five after being diagnosed with bone cancer.

After scoring a free-kick for Leicester against Burnley, Maddison removed his shirt to display the message: β€œRIP Sophie I love you.” Maddison had met Sophie when she was a mascot for Norwich City during his time with the Canaries.
