KPU commissioner Evi Novida Ginting was declared infected with the corona virus alias Covid-19.

This was conveyed directly by KPU Chairman Arief Budiman.

“Yes (positive), Mrs. Evi is a person who takes care of her health, so what her name is, she often checks her health, one of which is checking swabs independently,” said Arief after attending an event at the Metro Jaya Police Headquarters, South Jakarta, Thursday (10/9 / 2020).

Arief explained that Evi was tested positive after undergoing a routine swab test. He received a positive Covid Evi test report on Tuesday (9/8/2020).

“I was yesterday but yesterday I received a notification that the results of the swab were positive,” he said.

Furthermore, Arief stated that Evi contracted covid without causing any symptoms. Evi is currently undergoing independent isolation.

“So now, starting yesterday or the day after tomorrow, I forgot that it was self-isolated,” he said.

Jokowi Had Fired

Evi Novida has been active again as a Commissioner of the KPU after the Jakarta State Administrative Court (PTUN) granted a lawsuit regarding President Joko Widodo’s decision to dishonorably dismiss Evi from her position as a KPU Commissioner.

Arief Budiman previously stated that Evi was reactivated as a commissioner based on presidential decree or Keppres No. 83 concerning the revocation of Presidential Decree No. 34.

“The presidential decree has been submitted to the KPU on August 12, namely reactivating Mrs. Evi Novida as a member of the KPU and we have conveyed an excerpt of her decision to the person concerned, Mrs. Evi. And today Mrs. Evi is active again as a member of the Indonesian KPU, “said Arief in a joint meeting with Commission II of the DPR, Monday (24/8/2020).

Evi, who has recently become a member of the KPU, was also present in the consultation meeting between the KPU and Commission II today.

“Because he was assigned to handle the technical division, we asked him to attend this meeting and he was already in our midst,” he said.

Previously, the Jakarta State Administrative Court granted Evi Novida Ginting’s lawsuit. In its decision, the Panel of Judges canceled President Joko Widodo’s decision to dishonorably dismiss Evi from his position as a KPU commissioner.

Responding to this, the Presidential Spokesperson for Legal Affairs Dini Purwono said that Jokowi respected and respected the PTUN decision. Jokowi has also decided not to make an appeal, but will issue a decision to revoke the Presidential Decree dismissing Evi Novida as a member of the KPU.

“The President will issue a decision to revoke the Presidential Decree dismissing Evi Novida as a member of the KPU to follow up on the PTUN decision,” said Dini in a written statement, Friday (7/8/2020).

Dini explained that Jokowi’s consideration was based on the administrative nature of the Presidential Decree to formalize the decision of the Honorary Council of Election Administrators (DKPP).
