Rafe Larby Died Unexpectedly On February This Year

Tomorrow we officially open The Music Works Haslemere, a brand new music centre on the grounds of St Bartholomew’s C of E Primary School, Dedicated in loving memory to Rafe Larby.

Rafe Larby 7-years-old, a year two pupil at St. Barts School was reported to have died on February 20, following a short and sudden illness. He died at the age

Rafe’s parents have paid tribute to their son, ahead of a memorial service at St Bartholomew’s School.

Speaking about their son, Rafe’s parents Georgina and Charlie described their son as an energetic, hugely creative and self-assured boy who led his life with constant passion.

“Our darling son Rafe led his life with constant passion”. they said. He was such an energetic hugely creative and self-assured little boy and his sudden death has left us utterly bereft and heartbroken. We are finding it impossible to imagine our world without him in our lives, so we don’t.

For that reason, we are so proud to open the new music school honoured in his name at his beloved St’ Barts knowing the values he lived his short, but oh-so-full life by and the boundless energy and imagination he carried into school every day, will be alive in the fabric of this building.

A plaque has been placed on a wall outside the music school in memory of Rafe, urging people to “Let your imagination run wild”.
