1 killed, 1 arrested in Turlock hotel Shooting

One man has died and another is in custody following a shooting at a hotel in Turlock on Labor Day, police said.

Officers went to the hotel, located in the 200 block of North Tully Road, around 4:15 a.m. after police got multiple calls about gunfire in the area.

Once at the hotel, police found a man who had been shot. He was taken to an area hospital, where he died during surgery, according to the Turlock Police Department.

Miguel Saldate, 20, of Ceres, was identified as the suspect in the shooting. He’s facing homicide and other felony charges, police said.

Police are still investigating the shooting but said the killing may be gang-related.
