Gavin Frew Cause Of Death – Senior Constable Gavin Frew How Did He Die?

Gavin Frew, a leading senior constable sadly died on January 30 2017. Though his cause of death was never made public but sources claimed it was a Suicide issue.

His friend Anthony Hofmann who spoke about Gavin’s death things had to change when it came to dealing with PTSD.

“If there’s one thing we can and should take away from this tragedy, it’s that we need to change this macho culture and to learn to talk and to ask for help when we need it, otherwise we’ll needlessly lose more sons, daughters, husbands, wives, fathers, mothers, brothers and sisters – enough is enough.

Leading Senior Constable Frew graduated the police academy in 1989, passing the final fitness test despite a broken collarbone he suffered while trying to do a stand-up somersault after winning a football final.

He served in Broadmeadows, Ararat and Horsham, before moving to Wangaratta in 2012.

Gavin Frew Cause Of Death

Gavin Frew died of Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), A disorder characterised by failure to recover after experiencing or witnessing a terrifying event. Police officers came from across the state to Wangaratta to farewell to Gavin Frew who lost his life to suicide.

Highway Patrol Officer Gavin Frew showed no signs of trauma before he died.
