Posted @withregram @takingbackhockey Very sad to hear of the passing of the great Mark Sertich, a gentleman from Minnestoa who played hockey three times a week at 99 years old. What an inspiration he was to me. He hoped to be on the ice at 100. It would have been such an honor for me to skate with him, I think it’s the reason I’m grateful to older players who gave me a chance and showed me things. Sad to hear about the passing of Mark Sertich, a Minnesota man who still played hockey 3 times weekly at 99 years old. He was a WWII veteran, a legend at Snoopy’s Senior World Hockey Tournament and grandfather to a pro. RIP to the Guinness Book of World Records’ oldest player.

Hey FYI Jimmy, a friend informed me that “Sertie” Mark Sertich passed away today at 99. It was always fun when he skated with your Thursday night skate in Superior. I’m honored I got to play with him.
