Mark Sertich Death – Dead: Hockey Legend, Mark Sertich Dies At 99

The oldest known hockey player according the Guinness World Records, Mark Sertich has passed away. The Minnesota man was reported to have died today August 25 2020 at the age 99 years old. Mark was playing three to four times days a week till the day he died. He is a retired office manager and World War II veteran. The cause of his death or what killed his has not been made public.

He was a World War II veteran, a legend at the famous Snoopy’s Senior World Hockey Tournament in Santa Rosa, CA and grandfather to a pro player with his same name.

Mark Sertich became the oldest hockey player in the world at the age of 95.

Mark Sertich speaking about how he keeps fit Sertich, i have a simple morning routine for those two days a week when he puts on the skates at the Duluth Heritage Ice Arena.

“I get up usually at 5:30 a.m. usually. Get dressed and take care of making the coffee. And then I do my exercises before I go down to play. By that time, it’s ready to get dressed, go to the rink and get on the ice,” Sertich said.

He played his last NHL game on June 4, 1980. He was 52 years old that season, he played 80 games and registered 15 goals and 41 points with the Hartford Whalers.
