A suspect linked to a recent kidnapping of a Johannesburg businessman is appearing in court. A group of protestors are outside the court: “No Bail.”

Mohamed Zedan was kidnapped on 28 July in Fordsburg JHB. He was taken from his father’s Mochachos outlet.

It is believed the kidnappers demanded ransom. Zedan was found at a petrol filing station in Smit Street last night.

CCTV footage released after his kidnapping shows Zedan sitting at a table with a man believed to be posing as a patron at the restaurant before another mask-wearing man approaches him and pulls out a gun. It then appears that the other man might have been in on the alleged plan as they are both seen leaving the eatery with the victim.

Zedan’s return home is in the wake of reports of a Joburg businessman who was allegedly abducted – all part of a wide-ranging kidnapping syndicate.

Now protesters have arrived the court house demanding that the suspect should not be bailed.
