Two people have died following a fatal accident that happened around N2 between Kei Bridge and Butterworth on Wednesday.

The accident where involved between a Toyota Avanza who collided head-on with a truck.

The driver of the Avanza allegedly overtook on a double barrier line and collided head-on with the truck.

Reports also revealed that both drivers died instantly.

Similarly,

Four people lost their lifes in two separate accidents in the Eastern Cape at the weekend.

The provincial transport department says in the first accident early on Sunday morning, three people were killed and three others were injured between Nqamakhwe and Butterworth after a bakkie overturned.

It says the injured, including the driver, were rushed to the Butterworth Hospital.

In the second accident on Sunday morning, two vehicles collided in East London on the Woolwash Road at Haven Hill.

The department says a Toyota Avanza with two occupants, and an Audi sedan collided head-on.

The driver of the Avanza died on impact, while his passenger sustained serious injuries.

Both occupants from the Audi were slightly injured.

Police are investigating cases of culpable homicide and reckless driving.
