Who Is Faith Mangope
Meet Faith Mangope she is known by many from the youth radio station, YFM, which is based in Johannesburg. She has made it as a #YALI candidate, read more about the reason she was chosen below.
Faith got a new appointment on 19 August 2020 to be the new Power Breakfast Host alongside with Iman Rappetti.
She is a young intellectual and captivating broadcast professional. She has worked as the insert producer, current affairs analyst, field reporter and presenter at e.tv breakfast show, Sunrise.
Faith also has her own talk radio show on South Africa’s YFM, a youth-focused radio station based in Johannesburg. Faith is the founder of the New G in Business Forums. These are bi-monthly empowerment forums which are aimed at educating young professionals, established entrepreneurs, as well as aspiring entrepreneurs on the different sectors of industry in South Africa.
In 2012, she assumed the role of moderator for the Steve Biko Foundation Frank Talk Radio Dialogues. She is a columnist for the New Age Newspaper titled “The New G” published every Friday. She has recently been profiled by BBC World News as a youth leader and career woman.
Starting as a promoter, she earned her radio stripes by working as executive producer on shows such as The John Robbie Show, Early Breakfast with Udo Carelse, Afternoon Drive with David O’Sullivan, and Talk at Nine on Talk Radio 702.
Even though her companies, FTA Media Communications and New Gen, are keeping her busy, she still allocates sufficient time to give a helping hand and uplift others. Faith is committed to many social development initiatives which led to undertaking the mammoth task of instituting the first ever matric farewell dance for the learners of Minerva Secondary School in Alexander Township. With the help of the National Development Agency (a partner on some of her projects), she has just donated 1,000 books to Minerva Secondary School. She has also adopted Mkhambi Primary School and Emfundisweni Primary School, where she donated school shoes, school bags and stationery to the children, and has even organized trips to the Johannesburg Zoo for Mandela Day and a Christmas party for learners from the two schools.
Amongst many other impressive MC gigs, Faith was the MC for the City of Johannesburg Women’s Seminar (For Abused Women) and Motivational Speaker for the City of Ekurhuleni Women’s Seminar, as well as the National Department of Education’s Youth Program. She has featured on numerous publications including The Times Newspaper, The Sowetan Newspaper, True Love Magazine, Glamour Magazine, Cleo Magazine, Fairlady, Move Magazine, Soul Magazine, Destiny Magazine, Drum Magazine, to name a few.
Faith is a Wits University graduate, majoring in International Relations and Industrial Psychology. She is currently completing her Honors degree in Industrial Psychology and is also a lecturer for radio production at Interface Talent Management.
