Take a look at the aftermath of a magnitude 6.5 quake that rattled Cataingan, Masbate at 8:03 AM on Tuesday.
A magnitude 6.5 earthquake shook Masbate island Tuesday morning and state seismologists say that damage and aftershocks are expected.
The strong quake was centered five kilometers southwest of Cataingan town and it rattled a large swath of central Philippines, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
There were no immediate reports of damage or injury from the tremor that struck at 8:03 a.m. underneath the island province at a shallow depth of one kilometer.
Intensity IV was recorded in Mapanas, Northern Samar; Legazpi City, Albay; and Lezo, Aklan.
Intensity III was recorded in the City of Iloilo, while intensity I was recorded in President Roxas, Capiz.
