Owner of Inside Out Fashion Company, Brenda Kinsel Is Dead

The owner of Inside Out, A Style and Wardrobe Consulting Company based in the San Francisco Bay Area, Brenda Kinsel have sadly passed away. She was reported to have died over the weekend from an undisclosed illness.

Her death was confirmed by Imogen Lamport in an official Facebook post. The post reads “It is with an incredibly heavy heart that I write this post. The news earlier this week that a beloved colleague, friend and mentor, author Brenda Kinsel had passed away shocked me and the whole image consulting world along with her devoted fans. It is hard to believe such a vibrant soul with such a zest for life and style is no longer with us.”

Here is an extra from a message from her beloved daughters Erin and Caitlin:

“This past Sunday we said goodbye to our beautiful, courageous, creative, ambitious, and, of course, stylish mother, Brenda. Her last moments were surrounded with the deepest love from her partner Russ, her three children Trevor, Erin and Caitlin, and her brothers Brent and Kirk. She passed peacefully and with grace.

Her passing was unexpected, the result of a new medication that had a devastating side effect. We are in total disbelief, as I’m sure all of you are also. Suddenly dealing with the grief of losing our mother has been a tremendous shock.”

Personal Style Image also reacted to Brenda’s death. In a lengthy Facebook post they wrote

It is with such devastating sadness that I am sharing the passing of my treasured friend, mentor, image consultant, cheerleader Brenda Kinsel.

For me, Brenda was the epitome of our industry, what it was to care, to be creative, to give generously, to challenge ourselves and to be strong in our skill.

Here we are below, less than a year ago, collaborating on a Zoom class that she loved to be part of. Through this sadness I am and will be forever grateful for the fun times we had, tearing it up in Toronto, buying purses together, mine too big for my height she insisted, coffee chats at the King Eddy where she made me promise to start asking for the business at the end of my image talks, shopping in her beloved Sonoma and endless classes & training, telephones chats of encouragement, parenting and cancer, hers and my husbands.
Brenda is where I learned what it was to be of service to my clients.

Those of you who know me, who have heard me speak, have been in one of my classes at UWO, know she was always part of my talk, my class, my sharing.  She will be forever missed. Always treasured. The industry has lost the one of their best. That email I was going to respond to two weeks ago, well, this is it Brenda. Love, Sue XX.
