A young girl has been shot dead following a shooting around East Price Hill on Saturday.
The teenager, Aurora McCarter was pronounced dead following a shooting in East Price Hill Friday was reported missing in early July, according to a post on the Ohio Attorney General’s website.
Cincinnati Police responded to a report of a person shot in the 3400 block of Bassett Road at approximately 11:08 p.m. Friday, officials said.
Aurora McCarter was located and transported to Mercy Health – Queen City Medical Center, police said. Shortly after arriving at the hospital, the girl was pronounced dead. She was 17.
Golf Manor Police officials confirmed Saturday that an investigation involving Aurora’s disappearance has been active since July 7.
A Golf Manor officer declined to provide further information at this time, claiming the investigation into Aurora’s disappearance and death are still active.
Aurora is the 13th woman to be killed in Cincinnati this year. In all of 2019, nine women were killed in the city.
In the past 20 years, the most women ever killed in a single year was 14. If the killings this year continue at the same pace, 2020 could see 20 female homicides.
