Former Auburn softball player, Alyssia Palomino has passed away.
In a remembrance memorial conducted by the Auburn softball team on Monday 10 August 2020 the football team remembered her for her contributions to the program on and off the field. Palomino was 28 years old when she passed on August 4.
“Her efforts both on and off the field left a lasting impact,” it shared via Twitter. “She was a friend to all. We will miss her infectious laugh and contagious personality.”
The 28 years-old Palomino started her Auburn career in 2011 after a MVP career in California where she played for Henry J. Kaiser High School and the Sunkist League. While at Auburn, she appeared as a relief pitcher in four games. The program expressed its love for her family, friends and teammates.
According to AL.com Allysia after her first season was transferred to Cypress Community College and then Point University. Following her college career, Palomino became a special education paraprofessional at Berry Middle School in Birmingham.
The cause of death has not been released. A GoFundMe titled “Bring our sunshine home” has been set up by Karen Hernandez in her name.
