Confirming also Tim Hitt’s death is Dave Kohler From The Western Pa.Racing Current who said in a heart felt tribute through their official Facebook page:
“It’s been a difficult week for the racing community with the passing of three drivers who’ve competed in the Western Pennsylvania area, Sprint Car driver Brandon Hawkins, Asphalt Late Model driver Scott Baker and Dirt Late Model driver Tim Hitt.
All three deaths were non racing related and I believe it shows how unexpected life can be.
Maybe we often take racing, the competitors and to a degree life in general for granted but I think this entire year has shown how unexpected it can be.
All three drivers have been and will rightfully continue to be memorialized in various forms for the impact each has made in our racing community or our personal lives over time.
Enjoy each moment of each day if possible whether in life or at the race track, good or bad but know we can expect the unexpected to play a part.
Thanks to all in racing for what you do and to this Facebook page for letting us relive the history of our great sport and stay safe!”
